Many exhibitors return year after year, and as we have grown there is room for new artists and crafts people to attend the Fair too. Photos by Laura Morgan.

Until 2015, the Art Trail had been an integral part of the Uckfield Festival; celebrating a wealth of creative talent from local artists and crafts people. Re-launched in 2016 as an independent body, Bridge Arts will carry on holding the popular Arts Fair each summer.

As the last few years have been such a success in the central location of the Uckfield Civic Centre, Bridge Arts will again be offering the same professional exhibition facilities in the centre of town however for the first time, the event will be held earlier in the summer, June 9th and 10th, rather than as part of the Uckfield Festival. This gives us a better opportunity to showcase the visual arts in their own right. See How to find us for more location information.

Because we are a volunteer organisation we are able to keep costs down, allowing more profit to go to those artists and crafts people booking to sell at the fair.

The charges go towards:

  • hiring the venue,
  • renting professional exhibition boards
  • covers publicity and promotion including:
  • printed flyers,
  • large road-side banners,
  • the Bridge Arts’ Fair Catalogue listing all stall holders, and
  • advertising in select publications as well as PR on web, radio, local newspapers, magazines and social media.

We do not charge commission on the artwork sold, so that the full income goes to the artists and makers.

Exhibitors hang their work on the exhibition boards with supplied Velcro backed hooks, use the tables provided and display cards in their floor spinners and print browsers. Photos by Laura Morgan and Natalie Banton.

Display Space

For the first time we are having two sizes of pitch for exhibitors to choose from. Each large stall holder has three or  four sides of a 1metre wide by 2metre tall exhibition display board. The smaller pitch will be two sides. Please speak to us about availability of group space.

Hooks are available which work on a Velcro backed board adhering to the exhibition board. A limited number of hooks are supplied by the exhibition company and need to be ordered in advance. Please consider the number of hooks you will need for your stall, taking into account large and heavy objects and enter the requested number onto your booking form. Five hooks will be provided as part of the booking fee, and additional hooks need to be ordered in advance.

Furniture and Lighting

Stall holders may bring easels, display stands, print browsers or exhibition cases but it is at your own risk and they must not encroach into the aisle. A chair will be provided for each stall.

Small 60cm square, or long 200cmx60cm tables are available at no extra cost, but will need to be requested in advance on the booking form, so that they are in position when the pitches are constructed.

Booking Fees 2017

Large pitch: three or four sides of a 1metre wide by 2metre tall, either as a straight wall or in a three-sided cubicle. Large pitch: £50

Small pitch: two sides of a 1metre wide by 2metre tall, either as a straight wall or in an l-shaped cubicle. Small pitch: £45

The deadline for all registration forms and payments for this June is 10 March, 2017. Deadline for all images and exhibitor’s biography (up to 60 words) is 7 April 2017.
